BARAMULLA, Apr 2: The Bharatiya Janta Party (BJP) faced yet another embarrassment as there were only few dozen people in Watlab rally Tuesday. The development comes two days after, Bhartiya Janta Party had its embarrassing moment on Sunday Rally in Rohama area of Rafiabad in which less than 12 people participated, said sources. Sources said that BJP on Tuesday had called for a rally in the Watlab area wherein, BJP state General Secretary, Ashok Koul, Mohammed Maqbool War, who is contesting the Parliamentary Elections for 1-Baramulla Lok Sabha seat addressed the people. Ashok Koul while addressing the people said that Omar Abdullah must take back his words and leave the dream of having a pre-53 position. "They are showing empty dreams to Kashmiris," Ashok Koul in his key note address said. There are reports that, beside the party leaders, the family members and few relatives of the leaders of the Bhartiya Janta Party participated in the rally, which had been pre-announced in almost all the major areas of north Kashmir. However Ashok Koul said that we are campaigning for our Parliament candidate in Hajin, Baramulla and now today we are here in Watlab area of Sopore town. From past five years we have introduced various schemes, and want to help the poor masses, and we are working for the betterment of people, said Koul while talking to media. However sources said that now people are hardly interested in election rallies, as they are tired up from the false promises which these political leaders have been making with the common masses since long. Pertinently in the last Lok Sabha elections, BJP was whitewashed from Kashmir, and this time people want some kind of changes in all aspects, be it a matter of unemployment, jobs in various sectors including private and government departments, safety and security of Kashmiri youth who are studying outside of state and other issues. |
