| Udhampur Municipality keeps street lights on during day time | | | Ashwani Sharma

UDHAMPUR, Apr 12: While on one hand the government is urging people to save electricity by using it judiciously, the Udhampur Municipality keeps street lights on during the day time. The street lights or road lights in some areas of Udhampur town are not switched off during day time when there is no need as sunlight is abundantly available. A local told Early Times that the State is already facing power crisis, the Municipality should switch off the lights during the day. He further said that this is putting the State to losses. Rahul Jandial an advocate of district court Udhampur said that while there are many places in our State which have not yet got any electricity the Municipality should work carefully. The locals of Udhampur town have sought intervention of the DC. |
