Vikramaditya slams BJP for exploiting contractual employees, Baridars | | | Early Times Report
UDHAMPUR, Apr 12: Congress candidate for Kathua-Udhampur-Doda Lok Sabha constituency, Vikramaditya Singh on Friday criticized BJP for exploiting contractual and lower-rung employees of State Government and Baridars of Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine for the sake of power. Addressing an election rally at Udhampur, Vikramaditya Singh said that BJP has utterly failed to fulfill its commitment made to contractual employees of J&K Government and Baridars of Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine during campaign trail to 2014 Parliamentary elections. He said that BJP surrendered for the sake of power marring the interests of Jammu youth and compromised on its commitments merely to remain in power. He regretted that BJP with whom the underemployed youth had pinned high hopes grossly failed to release the long pending wages. The party which vociferously promised to address the woes of contractual miserably failed to ensure regularization of the services of DRWs, Need based workers, Casual labourers working in various government departments. Singh also raised serious concern over the sufferings of Baridars of the Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine who were totally depended upon the offerings of Shri Mata Vaishno Devi to meet their daily needs but after Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board took over the Shrine, they were left jobless and facing the cruel world to earn bread and butter. He pointed out that despite remaining in the power for more than three years in J&K and five years in the Centre, BJP did nothing for the welfare of aforesaid sections of society as is the case of several other sections. Vikramaditya Singh urged upon the Baridars to support Congress Party in the ensuing Lok Sabha elections and assured that he will resolve their issues by providing reservation to their wards to get jobs in Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board. |
