Udhampur, Apr 29: Continuing its War on Drugs offensive to contain the spread of Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic substances, Udhampur police under the supervision of Rajiv Pandey-Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Udhampur recovered 125 grams of contraband substance (chitta) from two narcotic smugglers at Flata chowk, NHW, Udhampur. SSP Udhampur-Rajiv Pandey said that during checking of vehicles at Phalata, a police party of Rehambal led by Inspector Ajay Bhat-SHO Rehambal under the supervision of Rohit Chadgal-DySP Hqrs. Udhampur and Rajinder Singh Katoch-Addl. SP Udhampur near Flata Chowk, NHW, Udhampur for checking of vehicles, stopped one vehicle Maruti Swift bearing registration number DL8CW-0918 for thorough search. "During search of said vehicle, 125 grams of heroin (chitta) was recovered from the possession of both the narcotic smugglers. The identity of these narcotic smugglers was established as Riyaz Ahmed of Dodla Bhoond, District Kathua presently staying at Udhampur and Sohail Ahmed of Sopore, District Baramulla. In this connection, a case under FIR no.74/2019 under section 8/21/22 NDPS Act has been registered in Rehambal police station and further investigation of the case is taken up. |
