No treatment for poor at DH Kishtwar | | | Asif Iqbal Naik Early Times Report Jammu, Apr 29: An elderly poor man hailing from Kurna Keshwan area of Kishtwar District, some 35 kms from Kishtwar alleges that he was denied treatment and medicines at District Hospital Kishtwar and was forced to approach the doctor at his private clinic for treatment. As per details available with "Early Times" the family member of 60- year- old Lal Din admitted him in District Hospital Kishtwar about a week ago after fall ill. Mohammad Yousaf who accompanied his father Lal Din said that after falling ill, he shifted him District Hospital Kishtwar as no doctor is available for them in the entire Keshwan belt having the population of nearly 30000. He said that after admitting him at District Hospital Kishtwar, the doctors did not give them any good response and they had to purchase everything from a private medical shop as no medicine was provided to his ailing father by the hospital authorities. He said after eight day stay in the hospital, the authorities refused to continue with his treatment and told them to shift the patient to Jammu or approach some private clinic for the treatment. He said that being poor they don't have any money to shift the patient to Jammu hospital adding that they finally took him on his shoulders to a private doctor who prescribed him the medicines and advice them to take the patient back to home. He said that Hhospital authorities even did not provide them the stretcher or a vehicle to shift the patient. |
