People forced to live miserable life due to BJP’s mis-goernnance, lack of vision: Manohar

Billawar, Apr 29: Former Minister and President DCC kathua Dr. Manohar Lal Sharma today visited several villages including Mandli, Barota, Bheed, Jasyal, Mahroon of Billawar constituency and took stock of public issues and also participated in various social , religious functions along with interaction with local people, senior citizens, youths of the area. During interactions people apprised Manohar lal Sharma about the problems faced by them on day to day basis such as scarcity of drinking water, electricity, bad conditions of roads, shortage of ration especially sugar, discrimination in allotments of funds in various schemes such as MNREGA, Widow /old age pension and many more. Dr. Sharma during the interaction said that he feels pain on seeing that Billawar lags far behind on developmental front even when DYCM and Union Minister happened to be representing Billawar both in state and parliament.
Regarding cross border firing victims he said union Minister Sh Jitender Singh promised Rs 5 lakhs cash and 5 Marla's plot each at safer places to the cross border firing affected people but till now people has got nothing .He said BJP has done Masters in making hollow and false promises with the masses of the state. Dr Sharma said the discrimination with jammu division and particular with kathua district also needed to be understood where unemployment is all time high and no job notification has been published in kathua district regarding teachers and SPO in particular.
While requesting to Governor administration Dr Manohar lal Sharma said that due to damage of crops almost 1000 families of cocoon farmers have have suffered losses ranging from 50000-200000 rupees per farmer and hence they are forced to live a miserable life. He again requested Hon'ble Governor to look into matter and provide adequate compensation to the cocoon farmers of the area. Further Dr Sharma said as hot summers have arrived but majority of Hand pumps in the area are nonfunctional, which added to woes of common mases in summers and requested the administration to make these handpumps function on priority basis .
