| ACB books Rural Development Department official in graft case | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Apr 27: Anti-Corruption Bureau Doda has registered a formal case under FIR No.04/2019 u/s 5 (1) (d) r/w 5 (2) and Section 4-A PC Act (Amendment 2014) against Anil Kumar S/O Sh. Girdhari Lal R/O Chehgla Balota Tehsil Ramnagar District Udhampur presently posted as Gram Rozgar Sewak in BDO Block Kulwantaon the basis of a written complaint lodged by one Mir Qasim S/O Manga R/O Chehgla Balota Tehsil Ramnagar District Udhampur.
The complainant in his complaint had alleged that the accused official was demanding Rs.8000/- as bribe from him against the execution of works of water tanks done by the complaint at Balota Chehgla Tehsil Ramnagar District Udhampur under Constituency Development fund of Rs. Eighty thousand (80000/-) of MLA Ramnagar in the year 2017 for the welfare of the people in the area. The complainant has further alleged that the said amount of Rs. 80000/- had been credited into the account of BDO Ramnagar ¾ months back for payment of the same to him against execution of said works by him, but Anil Kumar was demanding Rs.8000/- as bribe from him for releasing the said amount in his favour.
On the basis of said complaint a successful trap was laid against the said official and during trap he was caught red handed while demanding and accepting illegal gratification of Rs. 8000/- from the complainant, in the presence independent witnesses. The accused official has been arrested for further investigation. |
