Attack on CRPF convoy handiwork of Jaish-e-Mohammed, HM: IGP Jammu | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Apr 29: Police has claimed that an abortive car bomb attack carried out by terrorists at Jammu-Srinagar national highway at Banihal on March 30 on a CRPF convoy, was a handiwork of Jaish-e-Mohammed and Hizbul Mujahideen. "There were modules of Hizbul Mujahideen, one led Dr Saifullah of Pulwama and other by Rayees Khan of Shopian who jointly worked on the car bomb fabrication. There has also been an active collaboration by JeM, as the mastermind behind the attack was a Pak based JeM terrorist Munna Bihari operating in south Kashmir. Other terrorist of JeM Shahjahan was also actively involved in the fabrication of the IeD. The fabrication of IeD was done under the command of Munna Bihari", said IGP, Jammu Zone, M K Sinha. Massive amounts of explosive materials were found at the blast site split around the car that included gelatin sticks, urea, ammonium nitrate, LPG cylinders, Improvised Explosive Device (IED), unexploded IED inside Tiffin, etc. "We have also arrested the other accomplices of Owais Amin including, Umar Shafi, Aqib Shah and Shahid Wani all residents of Shopian, and Wasim Ahmed Dar of Pulwama. On the disclosure of Wasim another member of the HM Module involved in this car blast attack Hilal Matoo was arrested from Central University Punjab where he was pursuing his Ph D degree", added IGP. IGP also claimed that Jamaat Ul Dulwa a student wing of banned organisation Jamaat-e-Islami has been radicalizing the youth in the valley. "Hilal was an active member of Jamaat Ul Dulwa", he further claimed. |
