Workshop on Rainfed Integrated Farming Systems organized | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, May 17: All India Coordinated Research Project on Dryland Agriculture (AICRPDA), Rakh Dhiansar is making strides for strengthening of existing traditional Rainfed Integrated Farming Systems (RIFS) and in this pursuit, organized one day Stakeholders Consultation Workshop on Strengthening of Traditional Rainfed Integrated Farming Systems (RIFS) under the aegis of SKUAST-Jammu and guidance of Dr. J. P. Sharma, Director Research, SKUAST-Jammu in village Tarore adopted under RIFS in which more than 60 Nos of stakeholders involving farmers, scientists from different constituents units of SKUAST-Jammu and officials from Line and Animal Husbandry departments have participated. The purpose of organizing this workshop is to sensitize the farmers about the ways and means to strengthen the existing and/or traditional RIFS in the Agro Climate Zone being practiced by them and to get the feedback from them to formulate/design resource based location specific RIFS modules. During the event, an interaction with the farmers was conducted to aware them about integration of agriculture with allied enterprises viz., livestock, horticulture. |
