Bhaderwah Murder: Competition among NC, PDP leadership to communalize situation
5/17/2019 11:24:19 PM
Early Times Report
Jammu, May 17: Eying coming assembly elections in the State, there is competition among PDP and BJP leaders to demonize minority community and give communal colour any crime incident in Jammu region.
Even before verifying the facts, there is mad race among PDP and NC leaders to give religious colour to any incident. Unfortunate incident at Bhaderwah in which one person was murdered by unidentified people, NC leader and former chief minister Omar Abdullah waste no time in shifting all blames on self-styled "cow vigilantes" to give in communal colour without waiting for police to verify the facts.
"This on a day alleged cow vigilantes have killed a man in Bhaderwah area of Jammu-India's Muslims fear for their future under Narendra Modi", Omar tweeted to beat PDP in communalize situation in highly sensitive Bhaderwah area.
Earlier PDP leader, who is not trying to give religious colour to every crime in Jammu region, posted on his face-book "Yesterday · · Cow vigilantes and Saffron Terrorists killed a middle-aged man in Bhaderwah and suddenly everyone has gone in silent mode. Those coining theories of ISI and ISIS planning communalisation of Jammu have gone missing. There is no word on majority and minority politics of Chenab Valley. The Thaikaidars sitting in cozy rooms in Jammu are no more…".
These statements on the part of NC and PDP leaders have instigated people so BJP also jumped into the controversy and sought action against those who encouraged anti-national elements to attack members of the minority community.
Sunil Sethi, spokesman of BJP, quoting the police officials that the accused are yet to be identified and motive behind killing is also not established. He asked "Who are persons responsible for spreading rumours leading to destruction of property of minority community and the harassment of members of Minority Community including children and women at the hands of Criminals and Anti nationals who come under cover of protesters?".
He also raised question about reckless statement made by Former Chief Minister Omar Abdullah without checking facts which added fuel to fire. He said that statement made by National Conference leader seems to be deliberate to create wedge between society and to polarize society. He asked Omar Abdullah to exercise restraints while dealing with potential dangerous situation for general public and to check facts completely before making statement which ultimately proves to be bundle of falsehood.
