In Samba, DySP, SHO work like Sholay's 'Jai-Veeru' pair
Works in tandem to make money

Early Times Report
JAMMU, May 17: Two police officers-a Deputy Superintendent (DySP) and a Station House Officer (SHO)-deployed in district Samba are working in tandem to take monetary benefits out of the cases they are dealing with.
According to sources, the duo has finalized three big deals in a month in which they were able to obtain lakhs of rupees. However, the senior police officials in the district are still unaware of the activities being carried out by their junior pair of officers, sources said, adding that the duo has become quite notorious with their style of functioning in the area.
"The SHO, who had been posted in District Police Line, Samba for a very long duration, was assigned the charge of a police station due to parliamentary polls. After assuming the charge of police station, he wasted no time in establishing his grip and carrying out his strategies. Soon he found the company of one of his seniors to further extend his control. They are now working like the pair of Jai and Veeru in the Bollywood blockbuster Sholay," said sources.
Sources said that while the poll process for Lok Sabha elections was going on, two arms cases were reported in which the duo managed to obtain huge chunk of money from the indicted persons by exerting pressure and intimidating them.
Sources said that not only this, the two officers also made easy money in a case of scuffle in which some soldiers were involved. "The SHO managed to nab the soldiers with the help of the DySP and a case against them was registered. The apprehended army men then were made to accept the deal of providing monetary benefits otherwise their jobs would be in danger if the matter is reported to their seniors. The youth held in captivation had no other choice but to bow before the dictates of the SHO. They were finally released after paying the amount fixed in the deal," said sources.
Sources said that the duo is also extending a helping hand to the drug dealers operating in their area due to which the drug mafia is carrying out their nefarious designs without any check or balance adding that free hand to the drug suppliers and their assistants is fast spreading the menace of drugs among youth.
