Those who demand autonomy from India issue certificates of nationalism
What an irony?

Early Times Report
Jammu, May 17: Strange things are happening in India and its J&K. A week ago, actor-turned-politician in Tamil Nadu Kamal Haasan termed Nathuram Godse as the "first Hindu terrorist in the post-1947 India". The reason: Godse had shot dead MK Gandhi for his views on the Hindus and for his soft attitude for Pakistan. His remarks triggered a fierce controversy across the nation with Hindu organizations condemning Haasan and secular organizations endorsing Haasan.
On Thursday, the BJP candidate from the prestigious Bhopal (MP) constituency Sadhvi Pragya Singh Thakur opined that "Godse was a true patriot and the people of India will teach a lesson on May 23 to those who called Godse a terrorist". She didn't say all this on her own; she said so in response to a media query.
As was expected, her views generated heat with almost all in the Congress pouncing upon her and asking her and the PM Narendra Modi and BJP chief Amit Shah to tender an unconditional apology. The BJP distanced itself from the views of the Sadhvi and asked her to tender apology, which she did saying she belonged to the BJP and the BJP's line was her line.
In J&K, NC vice-president, Omar Abdullah, and PDP president, Mehbooba Mufti, also took the plunge. Both condemned the Sadhvi and termed her and Godse anti-national.
India is a democracy and everyone has the right to say what the Indians want to say subject to the condition that what they say is not against the institution of the Indian State. Omar Abdullah and Mehbooba Mufti also exercised this right and certified that Godse was anti-national and those who called him nationalist and patriot were also anti-national.
But the question is: Had Omar Abdullah and Mehbooba Mufti the moral right to issue certificates of nationalism or otherwise to any Indian? Certainly not. They advocate an ideology that is rabidly anti-India, anti-Indian Constitution and that declares all non-state subjects a persona-non-grata in J&K and that vouches for a regime that is outside the constitutional organization of India. And, they vouch for such a regime on the ground that J&K is a Muslim-majority state and, hence, the Indian Constitution, the Indian Laws, the Indian Institutions, including the ECI, the SCI, the C&AG, the Army and so on are not acceptable to the people of J&K. They also go several steps further and ask New Delhi to talk to Pakistan and Kashmir-based Pakistan agents like Syed Ali Shah Geelani, Mirwaiz, Yasin Malik and Shabir Shah to resolve what they call the Kashmir issue. To be more precise, both Omar Abdullah and Mehbooba Mufti term J&K a disputed territory between India and Pakistan.
All this should call their bluff and establish that their concept of nationalism is flawed.
