| Forest fire triggers mine blasts along LoC in Balakote | | |

POONCH, May 31: A major inferno along Line of Control in Balakote sector of Poonch in Jammu and Kashmir has triggered landmine explosions, sending the local populace in a tizzy.
Reports reaching Early Times said that the fire apparently spread across the border yesterday evening while engulfing the adjacent areas. The fire has already engulfed large areas of Langiote and Balakote while causing some damage to the fence and other infrastructure also, reports said.
Meanwhile Indian Army is on job to douse the fire to avert any major damage. An alert has also been sounded in the areas adjacent to the border while cautioning the villagers from venturing the affected areas, the reports added. |
