Jammu, June 13: Continuing his drive to provide better development activities and to give a boost to tourism in Jammu region, Mayor Jammu Municipal Corporation Chander Mohan Gupta alongwith Divisional Forest Officer Wildlife Amit Sharma and Anil Gupta AEE /Nodal Officer to Mayor JMC today on 13-06-2019, visited the Jambu Zoo at Jagti Nagotra. The Mayor was given a brief introduction about the construction work being carried out in the project amounting to Rs 121.00 crore being developed by State Forest Department. The project covers an area about 227 hectare various activities which are being carried out in the zoo are water reservoir, leopard closures, fencing, circular restaurant, public amenities etc. The plantation of trees and ornamental plants has also been done by the department on war footing. The Mayor was informed that the main attraction in Jambu Zoo is Asiatic Lion, Royal Bengal tiger, Black Beer, Marsh Crocodile, Black bugs etc. It will also have reptile chambers hosting the poisonous and non poisonous snake. The Zoo will be one of the biggest in the north India. It will also have open amusement theatre and park for children. The zoo will have battery operated cars and bicycle for the visitors to move around. The mayor was informed that DPR for phase -I of Jambu Zoo 62.41 crore have been submitted to the Administrative department. The phase-II includes the water falls, safari etc. |
