GDC principal appoints son as Registrar | HC stops son's salary | | Early Times Report
Jammu, June 13: In the wake of his controversial appointment, the J&K High Court on Thursday stopped salary of the Registrar of Indira Gandhi Government Dental College Jammu. Justice Sanjeev Kumar after hearing advocate SC Gupta for the petitioner Mandeep Sharma ordered that subject to objections from other side, salary of the Registrar for the month of June 2019 shall not be disbursed. Sharma had challenged the order (No. 217 IGGDCJ of 2019, dated 27.05.2019) issued by Dr. Romesh Singh whereby his son has been engaged as Registrar in the discipline of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery in the Dental College Jammu for a period of three years as per SRO No. 24 dated 28.01.2013. Justice Kumar while passing the direction observed that the selection and appointment of the Registrar has been called in question primarily on the ground that his father Dr. Romesh Singh notified only two posts of Registrar in the discipline of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and deliberately kept one post withheld, which he advertised only on 01.12.2018, when his son allegedly acquired the eligibility for the post in question. |
