KMRH & OAYF discuss displaced community problem | | | Early Times report Jammu, June 22: A meeting of the Kashmiri Migrant Relief Holders and Over-Aged Youth Forum was held at Muthi office, in which burning problem of displaced community in general and relief holders over-aged youth in particular were discussed. While addressing the gathering it was said that relief holders and over-aged youth were the worst sufferers of the forced exile for last 30 years. No concrete policy for their survival with dignity was ever framed by the powers at centre as well as state level. It was particularly noted that none of the centre or state run schemes for the economic upliftment, education, health, employment and social welfare have been extended to them. Worst ever the over-aged unemployed youth are not even covered under the "Ayushman Bharat" health insurance scheme. Further it was stated that though the forms for the self-employment and skill development were submitted to relief organization about a year ago, nothing concrete has emerged out of this exercise leaving the over-aged /unemployed youth further in mental and financial distress. In the meeting it was unanimously agreed that no return and rehabilitation of the displaced community in the valley is possible unless and until a concrete ,comprehensive and foolproof blueprint is formulated in agreement with community for the same. Any half baked and ill conceived measure in this regard, without any constitutional and legal safe guard should be shunned by the Govt.fourm also cautioned those self proclaimed representatives to refrain from drafting any closed door road maps for return and rehabilitation without taking community in confidence. |
