Citizens' Forum demands separate sports associations | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, June 27: Citizen's Forum appealed Governor Satya Pal Malik to either plan two separate sports associations each for Jammu as well as Srinagar for all games or activate district sports associations so that every deserving person could get equal opportunity to be in the state level team, Citizen's Forum President R K Chadha today said that the move will also allow judicious use of funds for development of sports infrastructure and welfare of sports persons in our state. Chadha said the JKCA is a Kashmir based association having headquarters in Srinagar, and headed by persons from Srinagar, with main Bank Accounts of JKCA are in Srinagar, the funds are spent in for the benefits of players and organisers of Kashmir clubs only. They didn't give any preference to Jammu boys and always treat them as unwanted. A separate JKCA for Jammu will promote the new young players from different Districts of Jammu. As is done by many states in the country. In a statement issued here R K Chadha said that most of Sports Associations in Jammu are having a chosen few office bearers who keep on rotating and from amongst them also a lot many are government employees who do very little or negligible to promote sports. |
