Mirwaiz, his ilk suffer humiliation as situation witnesses constant betterment | Did Govt play House of Cards with Kashmir Separatists? | | Early Times Report Jammu, Aug 29: The union government seems to have put the separatists in a tight spot as it hasn't kept them under any detention and has virtually challenged them to do whatever they wish to. This, according to the officials is a very interesting situation to watch. Chairman of All parties Huuriyat Conference and separatist leader Mirwaiz Umar Farooq has no curbs on his movement at present. There are no troops stationed outside his house and there are no restrictions on his routine. As per the reports, Mirwaiz has given a written bond that he will not indulge in any activity aimed at fomenting trouble anywhere in Kashmir. Therefore, as per the reports coming to fore, restrictions on his movement have been lifted. In the similar way, there are, as per the reports, no restrictions on Tehreek-e-Huriyat Chairman Ashraf Sehrai. There are hundreds of his ilk who have not been kept under custody and have been allowed to roam freely. "This is amusing development indeed and this hasn't happened ever in Kashmir politics. The separatists have been rendered irrelevant for the people of Jammu and Kashmir and it seems that the government has reports that these so called leaders have no acceptance on ground and the shall no longer be taken seriously. This could be the possible reason why they have been freed and allowed to move in open. This is nonetheless a challenge thrown at their very face to foment any trouble. They won't , they cannot, " says a scribe working for a new Delhi based press outlet. Meanwhile on ground, the situation seem to be limping back to the normalcy in Kashmir. Though the schools have gradually begun to open, the roads are subtly witnessing normal traffic even in the old city areas otherwise known for being hotbeds of stone throwing incidents. The Jammu and Kashmir Governor Satya Pal Malik in his recent press conference stated that all efforts by the adminstration have been put under place to ensure peace is prevailed in Kashmir. "Out of 111 police stations in Kashmir, curbs have been lifted from 81 police stations. More restrictions will be lifted in the days to come. 1500 primary and one thousand middle schools have been opened in Kashmir and the government is making all arrangements so that the students wouldn't suffer and I can assure you that the normalcy is returning to Kashmir," said Governor Malik in a press conference. Meanwhile, it remains to be seen whether the separatists known for turning Kashmir into a veritable inferno will stay relevant in Kashmir any longer. Will they accept the defeat and humbly disappear in the oblivion or make strenuous efforts in resurrecting their careers which at present seems in absolute doldrums. |
