JKNPP activists stage protest against new motor vehicle act | | | Early Times Report Jammu, Sept 16: Jammu and Kashmir National Panthers Party (JKNPP) activists today staged a protest against the imposition of new motor vehicle act (amendments-2019). Neeraj Gupta said the traffic jams on B.C. Road from Jewel to Janipur and Jewel chowk to Talab Tillo is commonly faced by masses. "Multi story parking is still incomplete, due to which the people are forced to park their vehicle on road. The Govt. instead of preparing plan for its permanent solution of the problem is exploiting the people by imposing fines and by taking the custody of vehicle. Even the vehicles parked outside their houses were seized by the Police", he said, adding that Government is not providing parking facilities to the people. "We are not able to understand that why this draconian law has imposed on the people when Traffic lights are not working properly, roads are in worst conditions. When the roads will be in good condition, no parking zones will be specified, light system will properly work and awareness campaign will be started then only the purpose of the safety of common man can be achieved. The safety of the people which should be the utmost necessity for the Govt. has been left by the Govt. and kept in the cold storage. It seems that Govt. is trying to achieve its target of 5 trillion economy by imposing fines which the people are not in a position to pay", he said. He was accompanied by Jagdish Singh, Amar Chand Romesh Chander and others. |
