IGP reviews security arrangements of Navratra festival | QRT to be deployed in Katra for upcoming Navratras | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Sept 26: Ahead of nine-day long navratra starting from September 29, Inspector General of Police, Jammu Zone Mukesh Singh today reviewed security arrangements at Katra town-the base camp of Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Cave Shrine-in Reasi district of Jammu and Kashmir. Dr Singh chaired a meeting at Katra of all Police officers and reviewed the arrangements in connection with Navratra festival. A thread bare discussion was held to ensure elaborate security arrangement during Navratra festival while concerned officers were directed to ensure that comprehensive deployment is made to maintain law and order and communal harmony and close watch be kept over the activities of Anti National, anti-social and other disgruntled elements. It was also impressed upon the participants to ensure that nakas deployed around Katra Town are fully strengthened to ensure effective checking and frisking round the clock. Joint QRTs of CRPF, Police should be deployed on all entry points to react immediately in case of any exigency. District SSP concerned was directed to dominate the outer periphery of Katra Town, Trikuta Hills adjoining Bhawan area by way of regular patrolling . The IGP also visited all the venues of the programmes to be held during navratras and took stock of the security arrangements which have been beefed up in view of the ongoing navratras.
