DDC reviews Navratra, Dussehra arrangements

UDHAMPUR, Sept 27: District Development Commissioner, Dr. Piyush Singla, today convened a meeting with the district officers and prominent citizens to review arrangements for celebration of upcoming Navratras and Dussehra festival in the district.
Threadbare discussion was held on various arrangements related to security, safe drinking water, power supply, barricading, first-aid, sanitation, checking of rates. Directions were issued to district heads of various departments to ensure fool-proof arrangements pertaining to their respective departments during the festivals.
DDC stressed upon the Police Department to make adequate security arrangements for the religious event. He asked the Chief Medical Officer to deploy a team of doctors along with an ambulance for providing necessary health facilities. The Executive Engineer PHE was asked to ensure regular supply of drinking water and barricading at the venue while the Executive Engineer EM & RE was directed to ensure uninterrupted power supply during the festival.
DDC asked the Executive Engineer PWD to ensure repair of the road around the stadium before the commencement of Dussehra festival. He directed the CEO MC to take necessary steps for ensuring cleanliness in the town and sought the cooperation of prominent citizens in this regard.
DDC constituted a committee comprising Tehsildar, Assistant Director FCS & CA, CEO Municipality and Food Safety Officer to conduct extensive checking of market to prevent overcharging and profiteering by the shopkeepers.
Meanwhile, the shopkeepers were asked to display the rate list of all the essential commodities for information of general public. Further, the Traffic department was directed to deploy adequate number of traffic personnel at traffic jam prone areas.
Among others, Senior Superintendent of Police, Rajiv Omparkash Pandey, Additional District Development Commissioner, Ashok Kumar, Additional Deputy Commissioner, Dr. Gurvinderjeet Singh, Assistant Commissioner Revenue, Vikar Giri, IAS Probationer, Faz -Lul - Haseeb, ARTO, Rachna Sharma, District Information Officer, Er. Sajad Bashir Somberia, DySp Traffic, Lov Karan Taneja, Chief Executive Officer, Santosh Kotwal, Tehsildar, Mohit Gupta besides other officers of different departments were present in the meeting.
