Early Times Report
POONCH, Sept 27: District Administration Poonch seems to be non-serious towards the government employees who play truancy and remain absent from their duty as it has been reported that many employees in various departments hardly shows presence putting the visitors in huge distress.
Sources told Early Times that it has become common spectre in different Government departments in Poonch district where employees including senior officials remain absent from their duty unauthorizedly.
"Most of the employees who skip offices are either from Jammu district or belong to far off area of Poonch district. These employees including officials remain absent with the help of their senior officials. The employees of Jammu who are posted in Poonch return to home on Friday and then resume their duty on Monday. Even though, if they are in Poonch, they hardly pay visit to office and come to office at their own sweet will," sources said.
They further said that if any visitor who goes to department for some work, he or she would get a reply that the officer is in the meeting and they are sent back but fact of the matter is the said officer is not present in the office.
The most visible chaos is seen in the Education Department, where female teachers from other districts or who are posted in remote areas never attend their duties with the help of the concerned CEO. "Some influential teachers have managed their stay at one place for 8-9 years. These teachers have strong connection with politicians and senior officials of education department," sources said.
In order to verify the facts, the reporter of Early Times himself visited many government offices to find out truth and found that most of the concerned officers were absent from duties.
