ADC Jammu reviews arrangements for Navratri festival

Jammu, Sept 27: Additional Deputy Commissioner, Rishpal Singh, today convened a meeting of officers of various departments to review the arrangements being put in place for celebration of Navratri festival at Bahu Fort Temple.
Threadbare discussion was held on various issues including sanitation, uninterrupted electricity, ensuring regular and safe drinking water, security arrangements, traffic management, medical facilities, decoration, fire wood and check on the rates and quality of food items.
Emphasizing on maintaining cleanliness and hygiene in and around the temples, ADC directed the concerned departments to promote message on sanitation and also install dustbins to maintain cleanliness in and around the temple. He also asked the officers to create awareness among the people against Single Use Plastic and strictly implement the rules regarding the same besides taking initiatives to make the temple area 'no plastic zone'.
He asked the Police authorities to provide adequate security arrangements. He called for interdepartmental coordination and impressed upon functionaries of concerned departments to put in place all necessary arrangement well in time for smooth celebration of the festival.
He asked the PHE Department to ensure uninterrupted water supply and also instructed Power Department to ensure proper lighting arrangements in addition to un-interrupted power supply throughout the festival.
ADC directed the Traffic authorities to ensure proper management of traffic during the event and place proper signboards for convenience of the devotees. He asked the concerned authorities to keep check on rates and quality of food items being sold during the festival. Health Department was directed to keep sufficient provision for medicare for the visitors.
Joint Director Handloom Development Department Jammu Kanta Devi Rukwal, SP South Vinay Sharma, SDM South Shrikant Suse and senior officers of the concerned department were present in the meeting.
