BSF vehicle set ablaze, 3 injured | | | Early Times Report
Srinagar, Sept 27: In a bizarre incident, a Border Security Force (BSF) vehicle was torched on Thursday evening in the North Kashmir after it met with an accident, which left three people including one policeman and two women injured. As per the police, the accident took place between Buchoo and Haigam villages along the Srinagar-Baramulla highway, 35 from Srinagar, when a BSF truck hit a private car. "A policeman in civvies was driving the car and after the accident it skidded off the road leading to injuries to all three occupants. Locals rushed to the spot and damaged the BSF vehicle before setting it ablaze," a police officer said. The BSF men in the vehicle managed to escape from the spot in another vehicle which was escorting it. The injured were shifted to hospital, where the condition of all the three is stated to be critical. Additional forces were rushed to the area to maintain law and order. A senior police officer said the situation had been brought under control. This is the first incident after the Centre abrogated Article 370, which used to provide special status for the residents of Jammu and Kashmir including separate flag and constitution. |
