Despite Drone incident, which was used for supplying arms and ammunition to Sikh militants, the US President Donald Trump continues to support bilateral talks. Talks between India and Pakistan to resolve the Kashmir conflict. And In spite of the fact that New Delhi has been securing end to export of terror but Trump who is shown in insulting Imran Khan Pakistan Prime Minister by shaking hands with Modi and hugging him
Donald Trump "encouraged" Prime Minister Narendra Modi to improve relations with Pakistan and fulfil his promise to better the lives of the Kashmiri people, according to a readout issued by the White House on the bilateral meeting between the two leaders.
Prime Minister Modi and President Trump had met on the other day on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly session here - their fourth meeting since Modi came to power for a second term in May. Their 40-minute talks focused on bilateral trade and issues related to terrorism emanating from Pakistan. When Modi referred to Drones being used from China for supplying weapons and arms to sikh militants Trump felt a bit lost. He told Modi that since the US is at his back any equipment from China cannot derail peace in the subcontinent. He suggested to Modi that let him make a beginning and Pakistan would stop end of export of terror and in this connection Modi informed Trump that Pakistan is planning to revive terrorism in Punjab.
President Trump noted the good progress on defence and security cooperation, the readout said. "Additionally, the President encouraged Prime Minister Modi to improve relations with Pakistan and fulfil his promise to better the lives of the Kashmiri people," it said. Foreign Secretary Vijay Gokhale said the Prime Minister explained in detail to President Trump the challenges faced by India due to terrorism, especially in Jammu and Kashmir. He put forward India's perspective on the issue of terrorism as President Trump vowed to protect innocent civilians from the menace of terror. Trump suggested to Modi that he should play a big brother's role and reopen the channels of dialogue with Pakistan so that Islamabad stops to export terror to India particularly to Jammu and Kashmir.
