Acute shortage of water, electricity in W.No.62: MPEJ
9/29/2019 9:48:29 PM
Early Times Report
JAMMU, Sept 29: The public of Laxmipuram - sector-B -1/ B-2, A-1/A-2 area of ward No 62 held a meeting under the chairmanship of Kuldeep Kumar Rao, member of Movement for Peace, Equality and Justice, and expressed great resentment over acute shortage of drinking water in said ward
Locals informed that hardly 10 minutes supply was provided that too after 2 to 3 days for last 1 year, which has put the inhabitants to unfold hardships in these days. The public of the area have appealed His-Excellency the Governor of Jammu and Kashmir to intervene in the matter personally so that regular water supply for one hour on daily basis is ensured to the area.
Kuldeep Rao further said as to why electricity is being snapped in Laxmipurm Sectopr B-2 area of ward No:-62, Municipal Corporation Jammu, as compared of the adjoining areas like Chinore, Roop Nagar Enclave and Durga Nagar and others. The inmate feel discriminated over this act of the authorities. The people of the area have been suffering badly from the shortage of power supply for the last one year due to the apathetic attitude of the officials of the power development department, responsible for ensuring the proper supply of electricity in the area.
When they contacted the local lower staff of PDD department it has been told that the supply of electricity to the area gets disrupted as and when it rains and whenever the wind blows hard in the area. The reason behind this power cut is said to be that the area of Pattian and Keran villages and its adjoining areas do not have any proper system for restoring the supply of power after the stoppage of rain and wind whatsoever or to cut the supply to the particular area where the fault has developed. However the reason behind the development of the fault in the supply of power, whatsoever, is not known to them.
