Early Times Report Jammu, Sept 30: Rajput Sabha today started election campaign from Samba to restore democratic functioning in the Sabha. A campaign was launched at Samba by Kuljeet Singh Jamwal, Vice President, Shree Amar Kshatriya Rajput Sabha for reinstating democratic process of election of the Sabha which has not been conducted for the last over 17 years. Addressing a large gathering of youth of the biradri at Samba, he appealed to the community members to come forward and take part in the election process. "The present team of Central Sabha is working hard to build an Electoral College for the conduct of elections under the leadership of judge Pavitar Singh, President of the sabha and we have decided to elect the President through ballot and not voice vote", said Kuljeet Singh. Speaking on the occasion, Ashish Katoch, Organising Secretary gave detailed information of electoral college as per the provisions of constitution (Niyamawali) of the Sabha. He said that the elections shall be conducted after a large number of members from every district of the state are registered so that a popular face is projected as President of the sabha. "The society sees the Rajput community with lot of pride as we have made supreme sacrifices in the past for the safeguarding the sovereignty of the Nation, once again we shall bring back the lost glory of the sabha through a democratic process and lead the society with a new vigour", said Ashish Katoch. Meanwhile, Rajeshwar Singh Sambyal was nominated as District Coordinator, Samba for membership drive and Rohit Singh Sambyal as coordinator of Kumar Sabha with a responsibility to form Shakha Sabhas in Samba so that District, Tehsil and Block level units are also formed through elections.
