Increased dengue cases in Jammu must alert health, JMC authorities: Raman Suri | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, Sept 30: Expressing his concern over rising cases of dengue in Jammu with over hundred people found affected with vector-borne disease this year, Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) State Executive Member Raman Suri today urged the Health Authorities, Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) and allied organizations to gear up and start massive awareness cum cleanliness drive to contain spread of disease and provide better treatment to the ailing patients. Eleven patients have been tested positive just in past two days which establishes that adequate preventive measures are not being taken by the health authorities. He asked Director Health to spread his teams in city areas, hospitals and even villages to make people aware of dengue and its preventive measures. Fogging by JMC must be enhanced to get rid of mosquitoes and areas stagnated with water should be cleaned on priority. Raman Suri said that since past some time dengue had been creating panic amongst people in Jammu due to which many patients had moved outside the state for treatment. Shockingly, entrance to the office of Health Directorate too is stagnated with water and this speaks of carelessness of authorities, he said adding that officials need to move out of offices and assess situation on the ground across the state.
