DPEO Samba briefs Nodal officers about their role

SAMBA OCTOBER 01: District Administration Samba has set in the preparations for the Block Development Councils elections in the district scheduled on October 24. In this regard, District Panchayat Election Officer (Deputy Commissioner), Rohit Khajuria chaired a meeting of designated Nodal Officers to explain their role in facilitating smooth conduct of the elections.

The meeting was attended by Additional Deputy Commissioner, Vikas Gupta, Assistant Commissioner (Revenue) Kulbhushan Khajuria nodal officer for MCC and Law and Order, District Social Welfare Officer Deep Kumar, Nodal officer for Material Management, District Panchayat officer Piyush Dhotra Nodal Officer for management, District Informatic Officer Sanjeev Kapoor Nodal officer for Manpower Management, District Information Officer Ajay Sharma Nodal Officer for Media and Communication besides other district officers.

The DPEO appraised that the district has been divided in 04 zones and 09 sectors for smooth conduct of election and accordingly a team of video surveillance, static surveillance, Flying Squad comprising of executive magistrate would be deployed in each zone and sector. He said that transport plan has been devised to meet the demands during election. He laid emphasis upon using appropriate logistic support to conduct the elections in a free, fair and in transparent manner. He stressed upon using videography of all critical events in block headquarter.

Later, the Deputy Commissioner along with Dy. District Election Officer, Rajeev Magotra visited the Ballot box stores to take the first hand entropy for management and distribution plan.

The DPEO directed Dy. District Election Officer to keep the ballot boxes under surveillance along with the election material. He also laid stress upon thorough detection of ballot boxes and immediate replacement if any snag is found
