Johansberg, Oct 7: Cultural Diplomat of India to South Africa, Balwant Thakur was felicitated here today by the museum of Scientology at Linksfield Ridge House Johannesburg for introducing Indian Classical music the connoisseurs of world music. Being head of the Swami Vivekananda Cultural Centre, Johannesburg, Balwant Thakur is the first Director to introduce the great tradition of Indian classical music in the museums in South Africa. He showcased two accomplished singers of Drupad style of Indian classical music which included Sanjay Mallick and Arundhati Dhate. Drupad is genre in Hindustani classical music of Indian sub-continent. It is the oldest music, major vocal styles associated with Hindustani classical music. The most noteworthy of this initiative was that it was introduced in the museum of Scientology which has its branches world over. These museums have been created and are run to disseminate the philosophy 'Scientology' introduced by L. Ron Hubbard. Globally acclaimed L. Ron Hubbard has over 65 million words on Dianetics and Scientology. With 500,000 pages written volumes, 3000 recorded lectures, 100 films and 500 novels and short stories projecting this thought L. Ron Hubbard founded the church of Scientology. Ever since Balwant Thakur has taken over the responsibility of the cultural diplomat of India to South Africa, he has been endeavoring to spread the essence and ethos of Indian culture all over the place. India has been a world leader in the field of culture which has a legacy of 5000 years living art and performing traditions.
