10/7/2019 11:15:25 PM
Early Times Report

Jammu, Oct 7: Jammu and Kashmir Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Member of Parliament, Nazir Ahmad Laway has said on Monday that a delegation of Union Ministers should visit Jammu and Kashmir after the abrogation of Article 370 to review the situation of the region. "I appeal to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah to send a delegation of Union Ministers to Jammu and Kashmir to see the situation there. When they will see the situation there, automatically they will have to speak the truth here to the people," The PDP leader said. Nazir Ahmad Laway also said that he would write to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah over the situation in Jammu and Kashmir. He also said that the situation of Jammu and Kashmir is not good and asserted there is no democracy in the state. "The situation of Jammu and Kashmir, especially in the Valley is not good... There is no democracy in Jammu and Kashmir, people feel that there is a situation of monarchy," Laway said. The PDP leader further asserted that the economic and education sectors have been badly affected in the state due to the abrogation of Article 370. "The party which is there in Centre is working in Jammu and Kashmir. They do everything... The result of this will be scary in coming time because it is wrong to detain all leaderships and run a single party there," he added. The Central Government on August 5 Abrogated the special status given to Jammu and Kashmir under Article 370. Following the order, the region was put under a communications blockade and several local political leaders were put under house arrest. Additionally, another Act was passed by the parliament, enacting the division the state of Jammu and Kashmir into two union territories to be called Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir and Union Territory of Ladakh.
