DC challans traffic rule violators, imposes penalty | | | Early Times Report
SAMBA, Oct 11: In order to maintain and streamline the movement of vehicles including commercial vehicles in Samba Main Chowk, Deputy Commissioner, Rohit Khajuria, today visited the Chowk and challaned several traffic rule violators. The DC alogwith a team of concerned officers imposed penalty on various defaulters for illegal parking and traffic rule violations. DC directed the traffic police officers to initiate stringent action against the violators of traffic rules and norms. He laid emphasis on parking of vehicles at allocated parking spaces only as illegal parking on main national highway causes traffic jam, life threats to commuters besides inviting resentment among locals. DC directed Assistant Road Transport, Officer Samba to cancel the license and route permits of repeated offenders. He said commercial buses plying on Jammu-Kathua highway shall be made to halt at designated new bus stand only and any vehicle found parked in other spaces shall be booked under law. He stressed upon parking of commerce vehicles in new bus stand only and appealed all to desist from parking buses, cars on main highway road. During the inspection, a total of 15 vehicles were challaned and few were impounded. DC directed the concerned officers to remove all the illegal encroachments along the National Highway. Additional Deputy Commissioner Samba, Vikas Gupta, Assistant Road Transport Officer Rehana, Inspector, Vinod, DTI Samba besides other officers from Police accompanied the DC. |
