Led by Uday Chib, President PYC, J&K, the activists assembled at Hiranagar area and raised slogans against the BJP for betraying the mandate of people of Jammu region. Chib said that firstly the BJP government at the Centre imposed heavy traffic penalties on the people of the country by amending the Motor Vehicle Act 2019 and now then the government forcibly installing the toll plaza in Jammu region in a hurriedly manner. He criticized the government for allegedly implementing the amended MV Act in the State without any mercy. "Instead of implementing the existing Motor Vehicles rules effectively, the government was "penalising" people imposing hefty fines, which cannot be accepted," he said. Chib said that a common man who finds it difficult to provide two times meal per day, are finding it difficult to pay such fines of huge amounts. The government should find another way for collection of its revenue rather to impose this atrocity tax which is totally against the poor peoples, he said. Chib said by installing the Toll Plaza at Sarore BJP itself has betrayed the mandate of Jammu region. He said earlier the BJP former Minister has dismantled the toll plaza installed at the same place terming it was injustice with the people of Jammu but now how they will justify themelves. He said BJP has got massive mandate from Jammu and Kathua districts during 2014 elections but BJP has been miserably failed to do justice with the people of Jammu region. He demanded immediate rollback of toll tax being levied on vehicles on the newly installed Jammu- Sarore Toll Plaza. Romy Sharma, District President Kathua PYC unit said that such huge taxation in the form of multiple toll plazas was simply unaffordable for the common masses and particularly those who had to commute on regular basis between Jammu, Samba and Lakhanpur. He urged the Governor Satya Pal Malik to withdraw such anti-people act at the earliest failing which the Congress has no other option to come on road in support of common masses. |
