DH Leh, CHC Khalste felicitated with Kayakalap Award

Jammu, Oct 12: A function to felicitate the Kayakalp awardees was organized at New Delhi where Dr Harsh Vardhan Union Minister of Health and Family welfare in presence of Ashwin Kumar Choubey , Minister of State Health and Family welfare, Preeti Sudan Secretary Health, and Manoj Jhalani, Additional Secretary & Mission Director(NHM) gave away the awards to all the Kayakalp awardees from States/ UTs & Central government. Dr Tsering Samphel Medical Suptd, DH Leh and Dr Iqbal Ahmed, BMO , Kahlste received the awards as DH Leh and CHC Kahlste were adjudged first in State in DH and CHC category. Kayakalp Awards encourage every Public health facility in the country to work towards standards of excellence to help facilities stay clean, hygienic and infection free. The objective of this award scheme is to promote cleanliness, hygiene and infection control practises in public health care facilities, to incentivize and recognize such facilities that show exemplary performance in adhering to standard protocols of cleanliness and infection control. Under the Kayakalp, the assessment process starts with an internal assessment of the health facilities cyclically done by the constituted facility level cleanliness and infection control committee followed by peer assessment, where facilities scoring more than 70% in internal assessment are assessed by the team of the neighbouring District/block facility team and finally external assessment of the facilities scoring more than 70% after Peer assessment is done by the team which is nominated by the Chairman State Quality Assurance Committee.
