Early Times Report

Jammu, Oct 12: Congress leader Satish Sharma has alleged that Bhartiya Janta Party (BJP) has done nothing to rectify issues related to public, they only do politics for vote gathering and toll plaza at Sarore is another example.
Addressing media persons, executive member of Congress State Committee and former chairman of Jammu Municipal Corporation, held a press conference in Jammu on Saturday, directing blame on BJP to be responsible for the opening of toll plaza and described BJP as anti-Jammu party, Satish said BJP has done nothing to rectify issues related to public, they only do politics for vote gathering. "BJP only needed the votes of the public, for that the BJP will sometimes provoke in the name of religion and sometimes will show fear of Pakistan", he said, adding that when there was UPA government under the leadership of the Congress in 2013, the people opposed this toll plaza being built in the Patli mor and then the Congress leaders of the Jammu appealed with then congress UPA government at the Centre to stop its formation and after that, the toll plaza was stopped.
The BJP government is at the Centre and in Jammu too they have a BJP chosen governor, so why the extra burden has been put on the poor and middle class people of Jammu in the form of toll.
Satish said that this toll is being opposed by the general public today and this protest will emerge as a big movement in the coming days. He said that the maximum impact of this toll will be on the pockets of those working in Jammu and Samba as well as all those people who have to come to Jammu Samba every day for some or the other work.
He said that the Congress will oppose it peacefully and in the coming days, will meet its Delhi High Command and submit a memorandum to the President to close all the toll plazas being built in Jammu because Jammu Kashmir is already facing a huge financial crisis. We are struggling because after the removal of article 370, the only employment in Jammu which was from the tourists is also closed. On this occasion, the president of Congress Minority Cell, Baldev Singh Wazir and Ward president Suman Preet Singh were also present.
