After Laway, PDP leadership mulls over sacking four more leaders including one bigwig | | | Early Times Report Jammu, Nov 2: After expelling its Rajya Sabha member from South Kashmir Nazir Ahmed Laway, PDP is contemplating to expel four four leaders, including one stalwart for not following dictates of detained Mehbooba Mufti. Among four senior leaders, who are likely to be expelled from the party including two founder members of the party. Credible sources said that party leadership has taken very serious note of activities of some senior leaders who have been not creating trouble in the Valley despite directions from the top leadership. These leaders, sources said, are reportedly trying to restore peace in their respective areas and asking people to remain calm. "Although party leadership has taken the decision of expel these leaders, there is apprehension of revolt in the party so top leadership is hesitating to take action", sources said and added the one of the top leader of the party is among those who are likely to face expulsion from PDP. As reported Rajya Sabha member, Laway was expelled from the PDP-a day after he attended the oath-taking ceremony of GC Murmu, the Lt-Governor of the newly created Union Territory of J&K, while ignoring the party stand. "The Member of Rajya Sabha Mr Nazir Ahmed Laway has been expelled from the basic membership of the party. The decision was taken by the party leadership after learning about the participation of Mr Laway in the official function of the swearing-in ceremony of the newly appointed Lt-Governor in Srinagar, thus undermining the party leadership in entirety," a PDP spokesman stated on Friday. |
