Early Times Report
JAMMU, Nov 4: Jammu Kashmir Sharnarthi Action Committee (JKSAC) in a meeting held here today at Rohi Morh, RS Pura Road made an appeal to both the BJP MPs from Jammu and Kathua Lok Sabha constituents to take up the issue of one time settlement of Displaced Persons (DPs).
The meeting urged the MPs to raise one time settlement issue seriously with both the governments as recommended by JPC headed by Venkaiah Naidu.
The participants/speakers namely Capt Kundan Lal, Sushil Kumar (Sarpanch), Sarpanch Chatta Panchayat, Prof Nain Singh, Avtar Singh Pilot, Master Jagbir Singh and Roshan Lal reiterated that DPs have played a significant role to elect them as MPs and now it is their turn to reciprocate the faith reposed in them twice by taking their settlement issue forward in a planned manner for its final resolution with a missionary zeal besides their other responsibilities.
While addressing the meeting Gurdev Singh President said that with the creation of Union Territory the people of J&K particularly DPs of 1947 from POK have entered in new era with the hope that adequate measure would be taken by the incumbent govt as well as the central govt to end their sufferings of past seven decades. He said that with the creation of territories a new history has been written by BJP govt led by Narendra Modi as PM and Amit Shah as Home Minister, which will pave way to resolve the legitimate permanent settlement of DPs as the J&K is constitutionally integrated and is directly under the control of Union of India and added that it is the most appropriate time for both the govts to set right the wrongs committed by valley centric previous dispensations of NC and Congress in respect of DPs of PoK.
He made an appeal to Narendra Modi and Amit Shah to once again show their strong will to settle the long pending issue of DPs as per JPC report to safeguard their aspirations and future of their coming generations.
