Step towards pushing Pak into FATF blacklist
US report on terrorism vindicates India's stand

Early Times Report

JAMMU, Nov 4: The US State Department's Countries Report on Terrorism- 2018, published last week has vindicated India's stand that Pakistan is a safe haven for terrorists and the government led by Imran Khan has failed to curb terror emanating from its soil.
An analyst while talking to Early Times said, "New Delhi has been maintaining the terror outfits Lashkar-e-Toiba and Jaish continued to be threat to India and Pakistan is allowing its soil to be used for spreading terror in J&K and other states of our country."
He said, "International community including United States has understood that Pakistan is controlled by the terrorists and they were even allowed to contest the general elections in the country."
The analyst said, "Pakistan presently is figuring in the grey list of Financial Action Task Force (FATF) and may end up in the blacklist if it fails to implement the FATF action plan by the February 2020. Pakistan has failed to implement international standards to combat money laundering, terrorism finance and proliferation finance. Pakistan criminalizes terrorist financing through the anti-terrorism act but it has not been implemented on ground."
An observer said that recently released US report could found the very basis for paving the way for FATF to put Pakistan in the blacklist. "Many people believe that this is the only way out to put some breaks on the terror funding and stopping illegal transactions in Pakistan."
He said, "Pakistan has always remained in crisis since its inception and the democracy has never thrived there. It has been proved beyond doubt that Imran Khan is nothing more than an Army stooge, who is dancing to the tunes of uniformed generals and the ISI. Terrorists are the creation of Pakistan establishment. They are very much a part of Pakistani state."
The observer said that, "It looks like that United States has made up its mind to push Pakistan into the blacklist of FATF that is why such reports are being released which exposed Imran Khan led regime."
The US State Department report said that Pakistan government has failed to limit the LeT and the JeM from raising money, recruiting and training in Pakistan. "This could become a major reason for FATF to put Pakistan in the blacklist as these two terror outfits have been carrying out major terror attacks in India. There are even reports about both these outfits spreading their tentacles internationally and these could become a threat to global peace."
