550th Birth Anniversary of Guru Nanak Devi Ji Celebrated in GDC Kathua

Kathua, Nov 4: Today GDC Kathua Celebrated 550th Birth anniversary of Guru Nanak Devi Ji by organizing a Poster making competition on the Life and teaching of Guru Nanak Devi Ji. A total of 20 Students of the college participated in the poster making competition depicting / displaying the life and teaching of Guru Nanak Dev ji. The programme organized in the college as a part of the series of programmes to be organized upto Nov. 12, 2019 to celebrate 550th Birth Anniversary of Guru Nanak Dev ji as per the direction issued by Higher Education Dept. J&K Government. Three participants Shalini Chib,Sakshi Bhau and Jagriti Sharma were adjudged as 1st ,2nd and 3rd respectively. Dr. Manohar, Dr Rachna and Prof. Shikha were the jury members on the occasion. The programme was inaugurated by Vice Principal of the college Dr. P.K Rao. In his Inaugural address Dr P.K Rao laid emphasis on the Students to follow the teaching of Guru Nanak Dev Ji. He said that the truth fullness, honest living and meditation can make everyone to live a peaceful and successful life. On this occasion a numbers of faculty members and students were present on the occasion. The programme was organized by Guruparv celebration committee of the College. It is pertinent here to mention that other activities shall be followed up to 12th of November which involved Community Service, Screening of Film and Documentary about the life and teaching of Guru Nanak Dev ji, Kavi Darbar, Seminar on Teaching of Guru Nanak Dev ji and Book fair.
