CFJ seeks early completion of water supply project from Chinab River | | | Early Times Report Jammu, Nov 25: Citizen Forum Jammu (CFJ) today said that the drinking water supply project from Chinab River for Jammu city should be completed without any further delay. According to press release the CFJ said that their demand started in 1994 and Neeri Nagpur had prepared viable project Of Rs. 220 crores to bring water first filtered at Chinab River Bank, brought to Janipur by gravity and then supplied to Jammu by Gravity. No additional costs. Funds were available but being Jammu project no government allowed. "Four times the funds were sanctioned but governments and the officers of the day saw to it that project is not initiated because of no scope of corruption. The Project was changed to personal benefits by some leaders , to bring water first to Muthi, filtered and then pumped up to Janipur and then supplied by gravity incurring recurring expenditure in the process to their benefits. Project cost 1000 crores. We requested IDB to cancel the funds", they said. |
