Among those candidates include over 229 Kashmir Administrative Service (KAS) 2018 candidate who had pass main exams. The result of KAS (2018) main exams was declared on November 5. While as, last week in a letter written by top official of General Administration Department had communicated to Public Service Commission and had written that, "A fresh exercise would be undertaken to reconstitute the prestigious recruitment body". The letter reads, "It has been decided that a fresh exercise for reconstitution of the Public Service Commission is required to be initiated as all appointees are deemed to have held the office till the appointed day". An official said, "The reconstitution of Public Service Commission member means all the member who were part of Public Service Commission are deemed to have held the office till only October 31, 2019". However the Jammu and Kashmir Re-organization Act 2019 had given legal cover to continuation of chairman and member of Public Service Commission. "The persons holding office immediately before the appointed day as the chairman or other member of the Public Service Commission for the existing State of Jammu and Kashmir shall, as from the appointed day, be the Chairman or, as the case may be, the other member of the Public Service Commission for the Union territory of Jammu and Kashmir, "reads sub-section (3) of section 93 of J&K Re-Organization Act. |
