People grilled officials over non fulfilment of commitments during B2V1

Jammu, Nov 25: The people across the three Districts of Chenab Valley during an ambitious "Back to Village Phase II (B2V2)" today question and grilled the officials over non fulfilment of the commitments made by the government during the first phase of the "Back to Village Phase I" and called for fulfilment of all the promises and commitments made by the government with the people.
As per the details available with Early Times, the people soon after welcoming the visiting officials at Panchayat level seek the progress on the issues and the grievances raised by the people and elected representatives viz Panches and Sarpanches and accuses the officials of non performance and non serious towards the public issues.
The major issues raised by the people are regarding non payments of MGNREGA wages, material payments beside poor conditions of schools, roads, non availability of drinking water, non availability of proper electricity, non availability of staffs in schools are the major issues raised by the people during day long program which will continue tomorrow as well.
The officials told the Early Times that the majority of the issues raised by the public were similar to the issues raised by the people during first phase.
On the first day of B2V2 various activities like distribution of govt schemes guidelines which can increase rural income, visited locals schools, health institutions, AWCs, govt assets, banks water bodies, important private institutions, inspected the four pass books 14th FC, MDM, ICDS, Own resources, read out of fundamental duties, unveiled the GPDP booklet in the Gram Sabha, Discussed B2V1 report card critical gap analysis and obtain feedback on follow up of B2V1 activities, filled up the columns of B2V2 booklet were carried out by the visiting officers across Chenab valley.
At Poochal- A2 panchayat, the demands/issues put forth by the public and PRI members like unavailability of drinking water, better link road connectivity, dearth of staff in Govt schools, compensation /incentives to the farmers growing saffron (Damaged saffron crop).
At Poochal B-I, DDC along with visiting officer Additional Secretary to Govt, Forest Ecology and Environment Department, Ram Sevak and others planted saplings of Deodar in the premises of District Industries Centre Kishtwar and asked the concern to take care of the saplings.
While interacting with the rural people, DDC urged upon them to keep their surroundings clean and green besides conserve every single drop of water by taking various measures like storage of rain water harvesting etc.
He further asked them to avail benefits of govt schemes, adopt scientific methods of agriculture, horticulture, dairy and poultry sector so that the economy of the district boost up.
He further listened the grievance of public and assured them that their genuine grievances/ demands shall be noted down by concerned visiting officers and it would be taken up further with concerned quarters for early redressal, besides expressed his hope that the feedback so obtained will help the government to assess the needs and prime requirements of the people.
Speaking to Early Times, a senior Government functionary inform that the B2V2 is aimed to check the progress on various issues raised by the people added that the non performers will be fixed and punished. He said that government is seriously looking forward to carry out various developmental activities in rural areas of the District.
