DB directives in preservation of water body | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Nov 25: In a petition seeking direction to respondents not to cause any kind of encroachment in the Nallah Rambiara River by raising any kind of construction in the midst of the said river under and in terms of the impugned tender notice. The petitioner has further prayed that all necessary majors/ steps be directed to be taken to remove all kinds of encroachments made in the Nallah Rambiara river under the garb of construction of Fruit/ vegetable Mandi. A Division Bench of State High Court Comprising Justice Ali Mohammad Magrey and Justice Dhiraj Singh Thakur after hearing both the sides disposed of the petition by directing the respondents to take all necessary measures to ensure that the water body in question is not affected by any means whatsoever and the constructions already completed and/ or being undertaken adjacent to the said water body does not escalate the situation in case any flood like situation is faced by the villages surrounding the said water body. The petitioners shall approach the concerned authorities with whatever pleas they have in support of their case which shall be considered by the respective authorities under law. —JNF |
