JAMMU, Nov 25: The meeting of various heads / representatives of Civil Societies i.e. Brahman Sabha, Mahajan Sabha, Sanatan Dharam Sabha, Amar Kshtriya Rajput Sabha, Kashmiri Pandit Sabha, Chamber of Traders Federation Jammu, Retailers Federation, SOS International, All Jammu Hotel & Lodges Association, Team Jammu, All J&K Jatt Sabha and various other Traders Association were held today in Bar Room of J&K High Court Bar Association, Jammu. In the meeting, the representative of the aforesaid Association deliberated upon two issues raised by the J&K High Court Bar Association, Jammu in its General House Meeting held on 01-11-2019 i.e. proposed shifting of J&K High Court from Janipur to Raika and shifting/transfer of powers of Registration of documents from Judicial Magistrates to Revenue Authorities. In so far as 1st issue of proposed shifting of J&K High Court Complex is concerned, all the speakers in one voice were of unanimous view, that in view of the clarification and statement made by the Chief Justice of J&K High Court that there is no proposal or decision of shifting of J&K High Court to Raika, the same was not open to discussion and same stands settled / redressed, regarding the 2nd issue of shifting of power of Registration of documents from Judicial Magistrate to Revenue Authorities, all the speakers were of unanimous view that the same was not in Public interest and the power should be restored back to Judicial Magistrate in the public interests.
However, the speakers were of further opinion that keeping in view the present sensitive situation, a joint Delegation/ Committee should be constituted comprising of members of J&K High Court Bar Association, Jammu and representatives from Civil Societies and the said delegation should submit a Memorandum / chatter of demands, not only of Registration of documents but also of the issues pertaining to General Public, Traders, Hoteliers, Transporters etc and the said memorandum should be presented / submitted to MoS, PMO Dr Jatinder Singh and to members of Parliament both in Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha, sufficient / reasonable time should be granted to the aforesaid representative for redressal of grievance and thereafter further meeting of Civil Societies with J&K High Court Bar Association, Jammu should be convened to discuss further course of action and till than the ongoing agitation launched by J&K High Court Bar Association, Jammu should not be intensified without granting sufficient/ reasonable time to the above said public representatives.
Accordingly J&K High Court Bar Association, Jammu has decided to convened the meeting of its Advisory Committee tomorrow at 12 Noon in the Office of J&K High Court Bar Association, Jammu to discuss the views expressed by the members of the Civil Society. —JNF
