Early Times Report Jammu, Nov 25: The inaugural function of the National Workshop on Data Analytics today commenced at University of Jammu. The workshop will be held for one week with effect from Nov. 25 to Nov. 30, 2019. About 85 participants from different parts of the country including Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana, Delhi, Uttarakhand, Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh besides Jammu and Kashmir are participating in the workshop. Prof. Anju Bhasin, Vice Chancellor, Cluster University was Chief Guest on the occasion Prof. Anju Bhasin addressed the participants of the workshop and congratulated the Department of Statistics for holding such an informative and important workshop and threw light on the significant role of computing and statistical tools and techniques in order to compete with the global research. Prof. Shalabh, the resource person for this workshop emphasized upon the importance and essentiality of the software R as a research tool for multidisciplinary research approach. Earlier, HOD Prof. Pawan Kumar in his welcome address stressed upon the need of such workshops for young faculty members and researchers Prof. Rahul Gupta, Director HRDC, University of Jammu expressed his views about the requirement of statistical and computing tools in the present scenario to carry out qualitative and quantitative research. Dr. V K Shivgotra presented formal vote of thanks. The proceedings of the Inaugural were conducted by Neha Sharma, Research Scholar of the Department. Among others Prof. K S Charak, Prof. Romesh Kumar, HOD Mathematics, Prof. Pankaj Srivatava, Prof. SS Sambyal, Prof. Deepankar Sengupta, Prof. Arun Bharti, Er.Anik Gupta and Dr. Dharminder Magotra were also present on the occasion. |
