Early Times Report Jammu, Nov 27: After scrapping of Jammu and Kashmir Right to Information Act 2009 and extension of Right to Information Act 2005 in the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh under J & K Reorganization Act, Civil society member of Jammu have now made an appeal to the union government and ministry of Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT), the nodal ministry of the government of India for proper implementation of Right to Information Act, to extend facilities for residents of J & K and Ladakh UTs to enable them to file online RTI applications with the organizations and departments under the administrative control of Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh UTs besides the departments of Union government. In a joint appeal endorsed by RTI activist Raman Sharma, Dewaker Sharma, Deepak Sharma, Hunar Gupta advocates of J & K High Court, Munish Sharma, Founder, Vishwas Trust and Karan Parasher from Law department of Jammu University, they have urged union minister Dr. Jitendra Singh, MoS, PMO to extend facility of online RTI application for the UTs of J & K and Ladakh through online mode on the pattern of Chandigarh(UT). |
