JAMMU, Nov 27: Editor, Early Times, Munish Gupta, on Wednesday asked people to extend their wholehearted support to his mission of putting Jammu on the path of development. Carrying forward his mass contact programme in Rani Talab Digiana, Munish said, "Jammu is deprived of development in the real sense. No one from the political class of Jammu made genuine efforts to develop the city on modern lines. Jammuites need leaders, who can work sincerely and tirelessly for the welfare of the people. We cannot keep on repeating those leaders in the hustings, who during all these years had just fed us with hollow slogans while kept us waiting for our basic rights." "I have made a humble attempt to reach out to people by taking a plunge into politics," said Munish, who would be contesting the forthcoming assembly elections as an independent candidate from Gandhi Nagar Constituency. He said, "It is become imperative for the people of Jammu to wake up and feel the change around them. The gates of development will open only when the people elect those leaders who have missionary zeal and honesty to work for society." Munish said, "I am aware that people are fed up of false assurances made by the politicians. These days people don't trust leaders easily as they are habitual of leaving the public in lurch, I assure you that if I win the elections, I will try my best to resolve the issues which confront a common man." |
