Early Times Report

Srinagar, Nov 27: General Operation Commanding (GOC) Victor Force K Sengupta said that Army has worked a new strategy to increase vigil of militant strikes in Kashmir by taking out and diffusing the explosives beforehand to prevent causalities". K. Sen Gupta further said, "We have increased the vigil in such a manner that we are able to block the incidents before taking place by discovering the explosives before hand and diffusing them.
General Operation Commanding (GOC) Victor Force K Sengupta said, "The elimination of two Hizbul Mujahideen militants on Tuesday was a big success for security forces".
On Tuesday, the army and police in a joint operation killed two militants of Hizbul Muhideen in south Kashmir including Irfan Ahmad Sheikh the Hizbul Mujahideen commander for Pulwama and Budgam.
GOC Victor Force K Sengupta further said that from last few days we were receiving reports that in the area of Drubgam, Arigam and Prachar in Shopian terrorist movement had taken place and they were threatening civilian population.
"And, on Monday evening at 1800 hours operations was launched to prevent the terrorists from threatening civil population in these areas, during the operation at around 18 45 in the evening a civil vehicle approached one of our locations where troops were deployed, on seeing our troops fired at them, which was retaliated resulting in the neutralisation of one terrorist, while other one was killed later", he added.
It is pertinent to mention here that in last three attempts by militants to carry out IED blasts in South Kashmir have been foiled by the army after locating the explosives.
"The terrorists seem to be frustrated", GOC Victor Force said. He added that terrorists are not finding ways to operate because of the intense operations by our troops.
GOC further added, "With the eliminations of militants yesterday, the traders, shopkeepers, and common masses are doing their business normally and are now able to run their business normally".
GOC Victor Force K Sengupta further appealed the "militants to lay down arms and army will facilitate their surrender". He added, "We did not want misguided youths to face our bullets and if they raise their hands and come forward and surrender, we will help".
