Early Times Report Jammu, Nov 27: Army Public School Damana organised a motivational guest lecture where in M. Y. Kichloo, SSP, J& K Police (Security Wing) was the guest of Honour, who conducted an erudite session to sensitize the students about Cyber Crime. The students were made aware about the preventive measures, one must consider while operating the internet as well as social media sites. The students were also apprised with the terms like Phishing, Social Engineering, Key Logging, Geo Tagging, skimming, Stenography, Cyber Defamation & Digital Signature. The Resource Person brought into light the usage of the Social Media with its Do's and Don'ts to avoid becoming the victim of the Cyber Crime by taking into account the internet safety measures: Always use anti-virus, anti-spyware & firewall, Disconnect/switch off internet device when not in use, Limit information on Social Media Sites, Always use genuine software, Use strong & complex password & change them regularly, Never share passwords with friends or on internet, Never open E-mail attachments from unknown users & Don't leave your PC unattended. The students attended the lecture enthusiastically & also interacted to curb out this issue from the society. One must ensure the safety on internet and stop falling a prey into the ditch as well as dungeon of Cyber Crime. |
