| SPMR college celebrates NCC Raising day | | |  Early Times Report
JAMMU, Nov 27: The week long celebrations in context of NCC Day by the NCC Cadets of SPMR College of Commerce culminated today.
During this week the cadets took out rallies in the college as well as some parts of Jammu for the awareness of various social evils like Dowry and Female foeticide.
ANO Prof. Lt Savita Jamwal delivered a lecture on Anti-dowry and Anti-female foeticide. She highlighted the evils of dowry system and lack of respect for weaker section. She said dowry is one of the major evil and it must be eradicated as soon as possible. All the NCC Cadets took a pledge not to accept dowry at any cost and in any form. Besides they also took a pledge to respect women as mother, sister, daughter and wife.
The cadets visited blind school for children at Roop nagar and interacted with the children. NCC under the command of 2nd J&K Boys BN lead by Colonel Sukhbir Singh Aslla gifted socks, caps and eatables. They also helped Traffic Police in maintaining the Traffic and spreading traffic awareness about traffic rules under the guidance of ANO Lt Joginder Kumar. |
